Default 350z Running Rich and Rough Idle After Engine Swap

My old motor was burning and leaking oil pretty bad and my buddy had a spare, stock, rebuilt engine so we decided to swap it in. After the swap there were a few issues with overheating and rough idle. The overheating was fixed by replacing some coolant tubes but the rough idle is still there and after actually being able to drive it without it overheating I found out it is running rich too and smells like gas when stopped.

There are no codes and I'm getting about 18-19mpg with about the same amount of city driving as highway (5-6mpg below what I used to get). The car also has a hard time starting when warm (starts fine when cold). It always starts, but just turns over a lot more than normal to get going I've tried everything I can think of (tried a different MAF, checked O2 sensors, checked camshaft position sensors, did idle relearn, made sure there were no vacuum leaks, etc, and searched every forum I could find) and nothing has worked so far.

Hoping that someone out there has the answer.

I Just did a swap and im experiencing everything you are and I can’t find an answer. Not sure if you were able to fix it or if anyone knows what’s going on.

This was quite a while ago, but if I remember correctly it was either one of the camshaft position sensors on the back of the motor or the crankshaft position sensor in the transmission. I've had lots of issues with those sensors and the ECU doesn't throw a code saying that's what it is. Pretty much every issue I've ever had with idle, hard starting has been because of these.

Wow, what a response!
Always go with OEM crank/camshaft sensors!
