Default 350z 2005 - P1615 Difference of Key

350z 2005 - P1615 Difference of Key

Hey all having the above issue.
Car starts and drives fine but throwing code.

Every 20 attempts it just cranks with no start, take key out, lock doors and unlock and then it starts fine.
replaced key with genuine Nissan key. Issue continues.

what’s the best next course of action?

Sounds like some type of NATS malfunction. If it's an issue with the key or immobilizer system, I wouldn't mess with it and better to take it to a dealer or Nissan tech. Over the years, this has been an issue and some have fixed it by replacing the antenna or disabling it completely through UpRev.

If you got the key the through a Nissan dealership or hardware store ask for a replacement. Agreed, sounds like a NATS issue.
Does the previous key work correctly?

Yeah old key worked and new one does too. Just odd that it keeps throwing the code!
