Question VQ37VHR parts used in VQ35DE

Hey guys,

First, I would like to say, that I've searched everywhere on the internets and couldn't find an answer to my question.

I have a vq37vhr engine laying in my garage for quite a while and I'm just wondering, here comes the question, can I use any parts from the vq37 on my 2004 vq35de?

Thanks for any advice.

It's a stretch to imagine most posters have mad mechanical skills. The short answer is NO, none of the parts on the VQ37VHR are a direct, plug-and-play replacement for parts on a VQ35DE. Now, if the OP has access to a full fabrication shop and detailed electronic info, s/he wouldn't be asking such a question in the first place.

I was thinking mainly about the oil pump. I have access to almost all the fabrication tools since my uncle is a fabricator...however I lack the skills myself...thanks for the answer though

I have heard of people using the 3.7 crank and rods with the vq35de pistons to make a stroker.
