Vq35de engine oil types!
Curious to see what the FI guys are running for oil. My DE eats a lot of oil at 5w 30 and I think im going to do 10 40 any thoughts on the thicker oils? Im burning oil bad. (NO LEAKS) 2006 model 350z
I personally ran Rotella T6 and religiosity changed my oil every 2,500 miles. I would stay away from Royal Purple. Amsoil sells top quality fluids but r a tad expensive. Long as you do consistent intervals of 3k miles at least per oil change while monitoring oil levels regularly you will be fine for regular driving and occasional hooning
If I'm not mistaken, burning oil means your piston rings are worn and allowing oil to be mixed within the combustion chamber. I would do a compression test.

Royal purple hasn't had great results from testing results with the VQ. BTW, if you really want to learn about used oil analysis and VQ engines, treat yourself to this sticky:

Thanks for the info! Im starting to think it may be warn pistons from the supercharger. I'm pushing 410 to the wheels with a stock block.
