so my 2003 engine blew and im looking to swap it with another engine and i did some research on what year engine i could interchange it and some said 2003-2005 engines could be interchangeable and some said no. So my question is can i swap a non rev up 2005 vq35de in my 2003 z without needing another tranny and ecu

thanks man because I kept trying to research it and some said I could and some said no I didn't want to spend 1k on an engine and then needing to buy a tranny etc.

You can use ANY RWD DE motor.

 

You can basically put any motor you want in it with the right harness/CPU. Just saw a 70 Cuda with a duramax diesel putting out 700+ hp. All about what you want to spend but to keep tranny/ecu any DE Motor as mentioned above would work
