Default Clutch suggestions

Hey guys I’ve been in the market for a new clutch for my vq35hr but I’ve seen so many mixed reviews on clutched I kind of just want straightforward experience from you all. My Z is stock aside from exhaust and is most likely going to stay that way but I do drive aggressively. I don’t mind an aggressive clutch feel but I’m not trying to break the bank... any suggestions of clutched youve used would be awesome!

Stage 10 6 puck 4 disc clutch for those commutes in traffic bruh!

Honestly for your application stay stock. You gain nothing spending all that money for something no one will see. Unless you're slipping don't upgrade.

But if you wanna impress those Z guys on the Instagram go for it. But it's going to be a waste. Just like 90% of the sht those kids buy lOl

Seconded. HR/CD009 is already a noisy, clumsy combination (unless you like the sound of gravel in a spin dryer). If you do this, consider NOT going to a lightweight flywheel. Instead, JWT also offers a nodular iron flywheel that's a bit lighter than stock (not appreciably) and this works really well with their clutch. Just installed one on son's car and it's mighty... and a great set up for street with no chatter and no more gear noise than stock.

Other bit..... while in there, swap out the OEM CSC for the HD replacement from Z Speed. (Or their other product, the CMAK - clutch movement alteration kit - which replaces the OE internal slave with an external unit. Great reviews on it and wouldn't be surprised to see this one take over as their leading replacement slave setup.)

I was looking at that JWT stuff and I’ve heard some good and bad things. I don’t really mind some noise but I don’t want it to be obnoxious. I also have been eyeing the action clutch package. They sell a stage 3 kit with the HD slave and it’s a fair price. I obviously don’t need stage 3 but it’s cheaper than stage 2 for some reason so I figure why not. I race the **** out of my car so stock just isn’t going to last me the way I drive. And if you want to say I’m driving incorrectly be my guest but stock just won’t last as long as I’d like.

A higher stage clutch doesn't last longer. . .

If you enjoy downshifts, get a lightweight flywheel and deal with the gear chatter. The JWT kit is awesome for the money.
