Tuning my 350z
Hello I'm new to this website and i was wondering where can I find a thread where people's can help me find the right stuff to tune my car (my dad gave me his 2003 350z with a Vq35DE single intake with some aftermarket stuff to help the engine breath better) I'm want to make the car 500hp for now and later on in the future I just add 300 more and I'm done. I would look for stuff by myself but I'm having difficult time looking for the right stuff. I'm 18 by the way and new into car But learning slowly (baby step lol) anyway if you guy can give me some tip on what to look for and what part to tune/modified?
Thank for your help

First thing you need to learn is to stop throwing around BIG POWER numbers around like they're nothing.
500hp "and then" 300 more..... 800 pony Z car..... Sure, it's possible.... but at what cost and how reliably? Got $30k to throw at it?
Seriously, youd be lucky to see 300 whp NA and maybe 500-600 TT'd. Maybe.
The VQ is capable of tons more power of course..... if you're willing to pay for it
Spend the money on the driver first; then when you're at 80% of the car's EXISTING capabilities, then build it.

indeed awfully ambition...
OP, the best thing you can do (in my opinion) is improve your driving skill and improve your mechanical & knowledge skill -
learn the car - read what others have done, what has worked, and what hasnt...
You'll get much further if you can do the work yourself and find deals on parts ... but if you're serious about the process, take your baby steps and make a plan.
300whp = $5k to $7k
400whp = $10k to $15k
500whp = $15k to $25k
600whp = $25k to $30k
700whp+ =$30k+

The only hope you have of getting past 300 is going turbo or some type of forced induction. What you want to use you can search your self. If you can't find that you didn't try.
As for power, make sure you get a safe clean tune, then power. Power is cool for the interweb but if it's not a clean safe tune it doesn't matter cause you'll end with bad response or a 0HP blown motor.
If you really want to learn here research and google first. If you ABSOLUTLY can't find the answers you need ask around. But don't make threads before at least looking your self. Doesn't fly so well around here.
That said, good luck. Welcome to the forum. And enjoy it stock, they are pretty decent cars with the power they come with.

I assumed troll a 500 HP Z which will later be upgraded to 800 HP? OMG LOL Sounds like someone has been playing too many video games: complete DRIFT-O circuit in under 1:00 to unlock more BOOST!
Also assume car will be wrecked the first time it rains. I know my 18 year old self nearly wrecked an '83 Mustang in the rain. And that was back when Ford's inline 6 (3.3l) made an awesome 85 hp! Granted cars were lighter back then (plus with no traction control), but a stock Z has 200 more HP hopefully this kid learns before he wrecks daddy's car.
My advice: Learn how to work on the car. I know maintenance items like belts, brakes and oil changes don't sound sexy but long term its better if you can actually do them (big $$$ saving). Don't worry about making more power since a new stock Honda Accord is as quick as your old Z. It is almost easier to list what parts you shouldn't waste money on like air intakes, big exhaust, test pipes, etc. Read this site, you'll see people gaining like 10-15 HP here and there after spending BIG money on various parts. The Z ain't a modern turbo where you are only a $400 ECU flash away from an extra 50HP. If you want to enjoy the car safely, learn a ton, plus have fun check out a local HPDE or Autocross event.
