What Mods Keep the Warranty?
I'm just wonderin what mods will keep the warranty. Its all gonna have to be Nismo I'm sure, but what else besides the S-Tune Suspension and exhaust wont void my warranty?
Pop Charger?
Nismo Headers?
Nismo Clutch and/or Flywheel?
Random Tech. Cats?
Anything else someboby can name? lol
Note: It posted the thread 3 times apparently.. sorry about that, totally unintentional.

the courts have ruled on this. the dealership has the burden of proving the modifcation caused the problem.
as that, any problems any mod created, is not covered by the warrenty. the warrenty is not an all or none.

Mods won't void your whole warranty. Only the parts associated with the mod.
Let's say U install a cold-air intake and U suck up some water by accident. I don't think you'll be covered.
If U install an intake and ur steering malfuctions, u still have warranty on the steering problem.

Oh thats off the hook then, I was under the impression that they could void your entire warranty for installing say.. a new set of cams or something along those lines. If thats the case (only voiding that particular part) then I'm about to spend some cash lol, altho couldn't they void the coverage on the engine or drivetrain by claiming that the pop chargers 4rwhp created too much power? lol Seriously tho, they could theoretically do something like that no? Not w/ a filter cause thats ludacris but with cams?
Note: I really would like to go w/ Cams, Pulley, Headers, Exhaust, Intake, Plenum.. just alittle worried about something going wrong and being stuck w/ a huge bill for a new tranny or something stupid when it was probably a factory problem.

cams could be related to many problems.
also thought the legal system might put you in the clear, you dont really want to have to seek legal representation for a blown tail light or something cause your dealer gives you hell about everything.
the mods you mentioned would probably void engine warranties much of the time. but not tranny. now a new clutch or flywheel would be a different story.

Glad I found this thread...I've been kicking around installing a Pop Charger recently, but the impact of voiding the warranty has had me pretty concerned. Can't risk voiding the warranty on my only car.
I've had my finger on the mod trigger for awhile too Celtic, its killin me lol. Nobody has a real answer to this Q tho? Low point.. I'm ok with losing coverage on JUST the part I replace, but if installing a new flywheel/clutch (nismo) is gonna void ALL drivetrain coverage than I'm all set. Same w/ installing a pop charger or headers, can they null/void all coverage on the entire powertrain?.. I'm too lost w/ this warranty s*** lol

Ok - so I just picked up my Daytona Blue Track this weekend, and have already spent considerable time going over this forum about upgrades.
Today I went to my dealer (Southern States Nissan in Raleigh, NC) and both the lead service writer and the service manager tell me that the Nissan reps are really pushing Nismo and that ANY part they install in the car is covered.
I go back to the parts counter to ask what they have in stock, and the parts guy says "well, the Nismo intake wouldn't be covered by warranty because it's an 'R-Tune part'" and proceeds to show me the warranty disclaimer in the catalog. The catalog disclaimer is very vague and does not state specifically what part voids which warranty. I think if I do get something done I will get it in writing from the service manager regarding the warranty. I bet once I ask for it in writing he won't be so flippant about what part is covered and what warranty is/is not voided!
