Nismo exhaust is a S-tune part and it will not void warranty. Especially if your dealer does it.

what if I were to get stillen headers, rt cats, and stillen cat back exhaust. Would that void the warranty on the engine? what if I aslo had the jwt popcharger. Being able to add these few upgrades without voiding my warranty is a big buying point in getting a Z.

thats up to your dealer...

but the only warranty that is voided is the warranty on the factorypart... you cant expect your nissan dealer to warranty a fault in your headers taht are made my a different company...

i have never seen a problem caused by the other mods you mentioned.. only thing is if you over oil your pop charger when you clean it you can mess some things up... but i wouldnt worry...

Cool, I'm not worried about the dealer covering any problems with the exhaust if I replace it, just covering the engine/problems. I know its kind of a stupid question, but I asked the salesperson at the nissan dealership and he hasn't gotten back to me about it, good thing my friend is going to be working there soon!

Does it state in the warranty booklet that it is an s tuned part and that it is compatible? Can they say that the extra horsepower (which isnt much) can cause problems elsewhere in my Z, like the tranny or anything else. Thanx for replies. Very helpful. I really want to the nismo exhaust, but i have the extended 6 year warranty and dont want to waste the money.

S-Tune is covered under nissan factory parts and accessory warranty. I believe it is explained in the instructions.

R-Tune is not

your dealer wont know... just say you got it "installed at another nissan dealer :P "

no cat back will void a cars warranty... unless you tampered with something else to put it on... but there is nothing to effect... the stillen exhaust has a warranty through stillen, so any problems with the exhaust materials etc will have to be taken care of by stillen...

as far as headers... you can install stillen, nismo, or what ever you choose... not much they will do to cause a problem... but if there is a problem, it would be the header its self that would need to be fixed... and depending on who you buy the header from, they may or may not be covered under a manufacturer's warranty...

rt cats... if you havea problem with your emisions system or your tripping a check engine light and it is because an O2 sensor is damaged, then most likely it was from a bad install where someone damaged the O2 sensor... that wouldnt be covered unless you have a mod friendly dealer who can help you...

I understand that the exhaust will be covered under the warranty but what would happen if another problem occured? Could they blame it on the exhaust even if it wasnt due to the exhaust? Say the tranny went or another major part? thnx again for your feedback.

They cant blame an exhaust on the tranny...

if they try... do you really want that dealer touching your car?

there isnt anything the "cat back" exhaust can really effect at all... If you put on a cat back exhaust and they install it wrong so the tips point into and behind your rear bumper and melt it... its their fault... and they should cover it...

Default O2 Sensor on Cats

Jason,

Just ordered the RT cats from you on Thursday. Is there anything in particular to watch for on the sensor....so as not to damage it. Also do they still come with the shims?

Use an O2 wrench.. it is like a socket wrench but has a slit in the side of it for the wire to go though... this way you wont end up pulling the wire or stripping the bolt when using pliars (if you could get them to budge with pliars)

We still include the install kits that include shims..
