I replaced my primary timing chain tensioner and the constant tapping noise that would fluctuate with rpm is finally gone. I noticed that nissan revised the part and just wanted to share with anyone who is getting this irritating sound. below is a picture of a ball check valve that nissan added to the new part.

Did yours tap constantly? or once warm?

Im chasing a tap in my motor currently. Tried spark plugs, oil, fuel damper with no luck. But i also have a misfire randomly. Was starting to think it was a noisy/bad fuel injector. Pretty much anytime i start the car the first 5-10 mins i get a misfire right around 4k Rpms then it basically goes away.

 

I just changed mine last week but dont have any sounds except for my idler pulley on the way out. Its so nice not to hear my timing chain dragging.
