Can a 05 350z engine fit into an 04 350z? I realize they're both DE's, I'm just curious.

 

05 could be a revup..

 

If it's not the 2005 Anniversary Edition 350Z, which has the VQ35DE(Rev-Up) engine, than yes you can..

Mine is an 05. And to quote PDX Racer, "in 2005, only the 35AE with 6MT and the Track model got the 300 HP "RevUp" engine, all others in 2005 got the 287HP engine."

So figure out what the engine came out of et voilà! There's your answer.

 

No IIRC the 2005.5 and newer touring also got some rev ups. At least that’s what’s been told on this forum a few times.

My 05 roadster is a DE.
