Default Mishimoto VQ35DE Direct Fit Catch Can R&D

Hey Guys,

Nick here from Mishimoto! I just wanted to drop off some info on our fresh new 350Z/G35 direct fit catch can kit! Make sure you head over to our Engineering Blog to get the full scoop!

The VQ35 has had a long tenure as Nissan and Infiniti's heavy hitting V6 engine, and while robust, it's not immune to the effects of blow-by. We set off to create a kit for these vehicles to put a stop to any more potential carbon buildup on the intake tract.

Our first challenge was finding a place to mount our new kit in the tightly packed engine engine bays of the the G and the Z, but our engineer was able to come up with a creative solution.

Make sure that you head over to our Engineering Blog to find out how we mounted our tall can, how much blow-by we were able to collect, and a link to our discounted presale!

Feel free to shoot me any comments, questions or concerns you might have!

-Nick

Is the can vented and baffled?

It certainly looks slick!

Looks nice, I have the ARC one though, now if you could only make a power steering reservoir and coolant surge tank. Those Id buy in a heartbeat =)

Love that there is a still an aftermarket producing quality of life improvements for these cars.
This looks like a well thought out addition. Good job!

We also ran a 1000 mile test with a can in line with that part of the PCV system as well, and we weren't able to catch any blow-by on that side.

As of now we don't have any plans for those, but I can definitely pass your suggestion along to the right people!

Unfortunately we only sell the kit as a complete set

Also, for those of you who haven't seen, we do have a presale going for this kit already! Make sure you get in on it quick, because it's going to be a short one!

I probably just missed it (I tend to do that) but how do you drain it?

Ok cool, believe me there would be market for such things, the only ones available for these cars are the WR ones and the fitment isn't the greatest, from what I can tell your parts are pretty good quality so I'm sure they would sell.

But actually, to drain it youjust need to unscrew the bottom of the can and dispose of it when you change your oil. We also offer a drain kit in the case that you want to simplify it even more

Much appreciated!

Just a reminder, we're planning on releasing these today, so make sure you get your order in if you're still debating it!

My little diy ditty. Baffled mishi catch can's bracket attached to another bracket attached to the power steering bracket in my 4 door Z. It works though it does not catch it all which I believe is a good thing.

We actually had a 350 in on Wednesday with the HR motor to test fit our 370 kit on, but unfortunately the mounting points and the hose routing doesn't quite match up. We don't currently have plans for an HR kit, but I've already passed on the interest to our market research team so we can hopefully start looking into that.

Which kit are you running? And is this a DE engine? It gets a little tricky to design our products around the huge amount of other aftermarket products out there, but we do our best to work around these though.

Just going off photos of the Jim Wolf kit, it looks like the passenger side cold-side intercooler pipe is cutting it a little close to the power steering reservoir, and we move the tank over about 15mm toward the PS of the car with our bracket, so you might want to take some measurements and see if it will work. We also typically put a check valve on our kits being installed on turbo applications, if you can make ours work, I can give you a recommendation on which one to install!

Thanks for the input I'm currently having some upgrades install so once i get it back I can take some measurements. The motor is a DE and I'm running the JWT 800bb kit with a larger charge pipe. Here is a pic so you can see what I'm talking about.
