Flywheel selection and chatter
Hi everyone,
I have an 08 HR and I'm about to replace the clutch and delete the CSC. I'm looking at upgrading the flywheel as well. The lightweight flywheel on my 240 chatters like a madman. The HR is my daily, so I don't want to deal with any chatter. Who has upgraded their flywheels and what brand/type and do you get any chatter?
Thanks in advance yall!

Not all shops resurface dual mass flywheels, but you could do that, or look at the South Bend clutch & flywheel, as there's a silent disc option. SBC is a single mass flywheel.
There are some brands that have mid-weight flywheels. I have the Exedy flywheel on my DE, and it's not noisy - it weighs in at 19 pounds. The Z1 midweight weighs 21 pounds, and is an excellent choice. Chatter would be minimal with these mid-weights.

Chatter sucks! I had a clutch and lightweight flywheel installed on my s2000 and the chatter drove me nuts. Chatter occurred at ~3-4k rpms on accel and decel. After 6 months of it I sold the car, and I loved that car. I decided against the install on my Z. I would go with the medium weight 19-21 lb range that jello recommended. The chatter takes too much away from the enjoyment of driving a car.
