Who is going to tune your build? That is who I would ask.

Personally, I went with Haltech......try and find a used one

Not much to see. Just some half-assed installation and trying to fix problems with eBay kit fitment issues/exhaust leaks

Love your build my man!
It's been 6 years! No problems except the exhaust leaks.

Right on man good job. I’m going to be needing a lot of help from you guys but I’m not scared to turn wrenches. I’m 17 turning 18 next month and I’m going to need wise/ more experienced people on my side when I’m working on the car. I’ll be working on it at my dads in eastern Washington which is about 3 1/2 hours from my mechanic/family friend so you guys should be a great help lol.

I sold it to DNash and he already said he is thinking about upgrading. You may want to drop him a message.

The redbox haltech or first silver box haltech would be a great solution for you. Especially if you want to tinker around with you fuel trims and (very carefully) your ignition timing, it has an easy to learn interface, many people can help you with your tune, and a decent tuner will be familiar with Haltech - especially the earlier models (which are simpler).

Youre doing a good job thus far...I can't reiterate this enough (let this be a life lesson and a my350z.com lesson) stay 10,000% super super humble and beyond respectful to everyone.

The attrition percentage for anyone under the age of 25 doing a turbo/SC build on this form is 100%. And it's this way because it appears the younger crowd cant take advice, criticism, reality from older/more experienced members.

With that being said - we're here for ya...

I’ll make sure to keep the build posted. Right now I’m just working on getting the front clip off the only thing I have left is this stupid ac system.

*UPDATE*
i picked up a spare motor today, it is the de so I can’t make much use of the heads but to my understanding the blocks are compatible. I mostly just picked this motor up because I figured I might break something or could use a better part off this motor to put on to mine, maybe the block is in better shape, the guy is somewhat of a friend that was giving his away for free because it supposedly has a spun bearing (60k miles), he gave me everything except wiring harness and plenum and all disassembled besides the piston and crank, any idea what parts exactly I could use off this? I was hoping to have the machine shop use the valves out of these heads if they work because they look pretty good and have 90k miles less. Hoping to at least use a few of the parts if I can.

Look at the backside of the DE heads and look at your heads , I'll be that for $50 of machine work they will suddenly be rev up heads .

minus the cams...

regardless - I've picked up 5 or 6 blown DE blocks and either parted them out, had extra parts on hand, or sent to the scrap yard. Disassemble the block and take notice of how things are assembled. You'd very very very wise to make notes (and do the forum a favor) and document where all the rubber O-rings are. This is one of the tricker parts of reassemble (forgetting O-rings and having oil leaks).

I suspect cylinder #3 or #4 has the bad bearing - I'd love to see what you find out.

Clean items as you take them off and keep the hardware with each item you take off.

If you don't have a hoist and a stand now would be the time to get one.

For what you have in your hands, assuming undamaged, the block will be the most valuable item - so take car in disassembling around it. It'd be wise to flush/power wash all the oil passages as they will have bearing dust stuck inside.

lets see some pictures!

this seems to be the one... lol. Closest piston to the firewall on the drivers side. First one I pulled because I just grabbed the caps and shook them and that one had quite some movement believe it or not😂😂 any idea what size the bolts for the crank girdle are??? Can’t seem to find that info.
