Default FX35/350z VQ35DE

Hey all.

I've got a couple of 350z's, but first time posting in the Engine & Drivetrain section..

Just picked up and 2003 FX35 AWD and i'm curious if this low milage VQ35DE out of a 6-speed 350z will work in it.

I'm curious if anyone on this site has done the swap and is familiar with all that's included or if it's even possible.

The only obvious exchange that I can see is the upper oil pan. Hoping someone out there may have more info for me.

Doing a quick search shows the FX35 does have a VQ35DE. So no question it'll fix and should function the same. Just curious if it has the same transmission as the 350z?
@dkmura @jhc @Mully @travlee these guys should be better help than i

It's unlikely you'll find anyone who has done a engine swap with the FX35 on this site. Nissan and Infiniti usually made small changes to the VQ series to adapt the engine to each application. But having said that, the FX did use a FM (front midship) chassis, so the changes may be small. I'd recommend you look at items like cam profiles and exhaust header placement to get a better idea.

IF memory servers me right. As long as it is not a FWD DE then all the DE engines are the same. You just need to change the pan to go form RWD to AWD.
