No need, your maxima guru is right here And I'll confirm, it's a no go unless you want to fab up some custom mounts, wish it wasn't because low-mileage FWD 3.5s in my area run between $300-700.
In addition to the block being different (And not useable) and the pans/TC's/manifolds There actually are some minor differences internally as well. Mainly the windage trays, oil pick-up, & the headgasket is a 2-layer mls as opposed to the Z's 3-layer

Basically. Though from what I've seen, the first generation RWD VQ had 2 layer gaskets as well.
If anyone wants, I can get pics of a RWD block next to a FWD block tomorrow, to show a side by side comparison of how the blocks are cast re: motor mounts. Vastly different.
Might actually do it just to have Nealoc or Nismology make it a sticky in AM on the org...too many questions about this there as well.

The blocks are both positioned in the same way, with the same side facing the camera. It's basically the same on both sides. I'll try to get one later of them laying next to each other, but this should do for now.
You can clearly see how the RWD mounts are positioned around the middle of the block, whereas the FWD mounts are towards the trans side, which is the center when mounted up in a FWD configuration.

I'll just say, it's gonna be bigger than 3.5 and be taking in a little more than atmospheric pressure...
