Default about the key on 350Z

found the style of the key in the japanese site(the stimulation game which u can rev the engine) that it uses the Q45 one, which is not exactly a key, more like a box and with a rectangle shape. i hope we get that style of key right here in US and canada, anyone sure about that? didn't anyone who go to the auto show and actually sat in the car and saw the key hole?(it was wider and bigger that usual key hole~)

A cool car deserves a cool key. I have always loved the switch-blade type keys, electronic keys, and others. I remember my dad’s oval key for the Z32. Then Nissan started to use it for all their cars. Some one should ask ZISME on the *cough* other forum *cough* about this.

I was pretty sure I read somewhere that the key would have that ID chip in it so that you can't start the car without the actual key (i.e. no hotwiring is possible) because it kills the ignition.

If this is the case, I guess the discussion about the remote starters would be moot huh? Unless you can somehow over ride it.

The description of the car on nissandriven.com does talk about the ignition disabling feature which usually means an ID chip mounted in the key. The key itself can look pretty ordinary with the chip imbedded in the plastic handle

now i was talking about the shape, anyone look at the Q45's key before, they looks like a key between the mercedez and a normal key, it has the silver part that u insert into the key hole but then that's a rectangle shape instead of a normal key shape. i'm concern about that alot, i want a cool key in my car~~
