Just in case anyone hasn't seen these yet, CZP is now offering these valve covers for the DE. They also feature replaceable plug tube o-rings.. halleluiah! (Yes, I realise other companies have been offering this sort of product for a while).

You'd better believe I'll be getting a set when the next seal dies. I remember watching old vids of guys drilling them out with hole saws...

I mean, worse case you can have them blasted and powercoated but that's not how it should be.

 

How have you guys found the quality of these including the spark plug tubes ? How many hours in the shop on average do these take to complete for both sides ?
Thinking of replacing mine in the spring. Guess I should replace the coil packs as well. plugs I just did

 

Seems like a worthy upgrade, and a relatively cheap fix over the plastic OEM covers.

 

I have seen some of these upgraded Aluminum covers on Amazon from a few marketplace sources as well.
How long are these to install as far as shop labor time ? Also it might be a good idea to replace the individual coil packs as well.

I have very low mileage on my convertible but it should be a good spring time upgrade. How long did you guys take or allow for labor ?

I am going to replace with Amazon aluminum ones. Anyone try the Okuda Projects Coil Packs ? They are expensive in comparison with others. Ignition Projects as well looks like
the same ones. Anyone try these with good results ?

 

I'd rather buy used OEM junkyard coils before I buy some garbage knock off ones. Buying quality ignition components is like buying quality oil. Oil is the blood of your engine, and the ignition system is the heartbeat.

 

Okada aren't knock offs lol. I have them, mainly bought because they are multi-spark. Ignition is one area you won't feel unless there is a problem prior

 

Have some time before car comes out of storage. I will most likely go with Okada coils and Concept Z alum covers. Reason being the worldwide sales
guy at Okada started the company back in 2011. Ignition Projects originally had Okada coils but they were sold to private firm that wanted to configure
the IP coils with cheaper grade Chinese coils. I am not going to buy anything second-rate and would rather pay a bit more for great coils. There seems
to be many cheaper products but they all seem to be replicas. Okada seems to have developed some extra features and higher ignition above the Hitachi
coils so good for them. Same with the valve covers. A few extra dollars for decent ones seems a more logical buy considering all the extra effort & expense
I have dumped into this car over the years.

 

I just replaced my valve covers with the CZP valve covers and everything was spot on regarding the install. I just put loctite on all of the screws that cover the spark plug seals and everything else fit just like OEM. Well worth the price for these aluminum valve covers.

I’m doing the same. They only had the raw aluminum, so I’m using high temp VHT. First time using this product, so not too bad.

 

Has anyone had these on there car for a decent amount of time?

 

I’ve had them on my g35 for a year or so … I like them and I would buy them again

I will say - no valve cover / gasket will seal the heads if installed wrong or without care …
