2003 350 Z Engine misfire. I think chain jumped timing.
Had a shop do a leak test with a smoke machine. Elbow on plastic air intake tube where hose slips on had a crack on the seam. Impossible to see with the naked eye.. Car is running good now.. I learned that children(my son and his friends) just are not capable of working on theses cars even tho they have a G35 and a 350Z as well.
Overall big improvement, however it has a slight hesitation when I floor it.No CEL anymore. Being picky trying to get it perfect. Tach will jump up when idling like it still has a vacuum leak every so often and sounds like a slight miss but it idles normal otherwise. Can't detect anymore leaks. Any other suggestions?
I don't know much, I am also looking for some suggestions online. If you are an echeck user looking for online casinos that accept echeck as a payment method, there are numerous options available. One website that provides a comprehensive list of online casinos that accept echeck is https://bestcasinoplay.ca/payments/echeck/ here, you can browse through a wide range of online casinos and select the one that suits your preferences.

Ok so I pulled the spark plugs and a few were oiled fouled. I did a cold compression test and 5 cylinders were 180 and one was 170. I can only assume the oil rings are carboned up or worn out. I did the seafoam, poured in cylinders twice turning over the engine trick. I put a catch can on this car when I got it for my son a few years ago but these cars definitely have to have one.
Car seems to be running good now. Timing chain tensioner still chatters at start up after replacing so the chain/guides are on the list to replace. Most want 3k to replace it with the water pump. .I.m looking at around $800 to 1 K to do it myself.
Not looking forward to it....

It's been diagnosed as a loose timing chain due to guide failure. It misfires occasionally now. Everything possible has been replaced and checked on a diagnostic scanner.
Not sure if I'm going to do the timing chain/guide replacement or have it done ,waiting on some quotes.
* Going to take it in and have the exhaust checked thoroughly. It's new but I just learned these cars will misfire with the slightest leak before the o2 sensor.

After extensive diagnosis the final conclusion was my son and his friend had the fuel injection harness reversed . Left on the right and right on the left. There is no way I could tell by looking at it.. A Nissan dealer with a sharp mechanic finally figured it out. A teenage rookie mistake but never let your kids work on their own cars.
Wow what a mission. But you know what thats how these kids will learn about their cars. I went through many trial and errors back when i was young and now im very knowledgeable and confident to tackle almost any car job. The only way you are going to learn is by getting under the hood and doing it. Easier now a days with having your phone/internet at your finger tips to do some research.... back in the 90s totally different story lol but many of us did it without it and learned. Glad you figured it out.
