Currently im rebuilding my engine and in the process of putting the timing chains...
The problem is that all the timing marks of the chains are spot on but when i put on the timing cover and the cranshft polie the timing on the polie is way off.
I-m going crazy but i know that someone on the forum hade something identical, but i cant seam to find any information about this.
the engine turns no problem
but this is the 3 time i installed the timing chains and the cams are going -60 degrees that why i think it have someting to to with the cranshaft mark
should i retard the cams sprockets ? so the timing mark on the crankshaft goes on the mark of the cover?
When I set timing:
set bank one cams to TDC by pointing the cam lobs towards each other (as depicted in the FSM)
Set crank shaft to cylinder TDC
Install the cam shaft gears & chains
String the main timing chain
I suspect you made a mistake along the line of setting TDC of the cams or the crank
well i think the TDC is fine couse i used a tool for the efect , but My doubt is on the outside crank polie mark that dosent match but the timing marks inside are all ok
should i care about the crankshft polie not matching ?
