Default Water pump replacement on a 350Z?

I watched a few you tube videos. They make it look easy but I'm an old timer doing this for my son. If there a chance I could mess this up and throw off the chain? I imagine a shop would hit me for $400 or $500 maybe more. I'm a V8 guy still trying to learn this car but have difficulty trying to get my hands in there.

Car over heats. Changed the t-stat. didn't fix it. Rad is a year or so old no leaks and fans kick on but over heats on the highway as well so I think pump is bad at 180k miles.

Any advice appreciated.

I'd be hard pressed to believe it's the pump, even with the miles. These cars are notoriously difficult to bleed all the air out of the system. Did you use the bleed port on the passenger side bank near the firewall?

Yes. Also used the fill funnel. The problem is the car has been fine for over a year, then started overheating. Replaced t-stat. No change. I don't think air got into the system by itself or am I missing something?
