Default Water pump replacement at 200k?

Hey all,

Just returned from the dealership, took advantage of my free oil change coupon , and i requested to schedule a date to have the water pump assembly to be changed out since i am at 110k already. Unfortunately the service manager told me there is no need to, he told me to just change my thermostat and get the water pump and timing chain replace at 200k.

He said the VQ doesn't need the water pump assembly to be replace until the timing chain does. Does this sounds right to anybody?

I'm so used to doing my timing belt and water pump at 100k on all my past vehicle. First time I ever heard a 200k replacement. Insight?

Well like i said i was used to replacing the water pump every 100k maintenance on every car I've own in the past. I guess that the service manager was correct then.
