I have a 2006 350z touring with 75k miles. Yesterday there was a lot of rain and was very wet out. I came to a stop sign, put it in manual mode 1st gear with tcs off and wanted to spin the tires a bit. They broke loose and I probably went 5 feet spinning the tires feathering the gas around 4K to 5k rpm’s in first gear, and then let off gas a bit and then shifted to 2nd gear and let off the gas completely (after it shifted to 2nd) . It shifted smooth, no clunks or noise or anything but when I went to give a little gas so I could shift to 3rd, it wouldn’t shift from 2nd and was like acting like I was in neutral, but still said m2 on the cluster. I panicked slowed down and put it back into drive. Again no noise or clicks or hard shifting or slipping or anything. And then it drove completely normal like it never happened. But I was super worried and confused. Later on I tried to use my cruise control and couldn’t as the set light was flashing non stop. ( this is about 30 mins after the transmission scare and didn’t turn the car off) I was confused and thought I must have ****ed somthibg up with the car so I pulled over shut the car off, waited a min and started back up and problem was gone. I got no lights on dash but got a freeze frame code on my code reader p1574. It hasn’t happened again and transmission and engine seem perfectly fine. I’m so confused. Anything helps. Also I don’t know where to post so I apologize if it’s posted in the wrong section.

 

Moved your thread to a more appropriate forum. Since I don't own an automatic Z I can't comment definitively, but P1574 indicates the ECM is receiving confusing vehicle speed signals. This is quite possibly a result of screwing around with spinning the tires with the auto tranny without TCS on. I suggest you keep an eye on it for a week or two and allow the diagnostic system to figure out everything is OK.
