Sounds great, except that 1-2 shift You were getting back on the gas and you were still letting off the clutch, burning it.

Hmm, shift was kinda slow, I'm guessing you left it in D instead of manually shifting it? Woulda fooled me, sounded like a 6-speed....

Nope it was in manual mode which I always use 100%, I just mismatched the next shift by a little...usually I hit the 1-2 shift dead on. I've basically mastered the Manual mode and have raced some modded e36 M3s and kept up with them and walked away from one with huge mods.

You're only keeping with E36s??

Auto's that much slower than the 6sp???

E36 M3s were a cakewalk stock... Both Adam and I are running even with E46s from a pull now.

I literally walked away from one(e36 M) with over 12,000 dollars in engine modification with supposedly 314hp. And my other friends e36 has some mods plus a 3.46 diff which changes the whole equation, he is Uber fast off the line. And I honestly can't believe you can keep up with an e46 M. I was in the BMW scene for 4 years and have been in, driven e46 M's and they are VERY fast. Another friend of mine with an e46 M with a GruppeM just dynoed at 289/237 and would probably destroy my ***...his car is sickenly fast.

I was dead even on a 3rd gear pull with an E46. It seemed quick when he weaved in and out of traffic but then again we never realy raced except for a quick 3rd gear run. He was like a Honda driver in a Bimmer All I can say is both cars can handle!! We took a S turn at about 90ish and wooooow.. I wasnt sure is the g would hold or not.. But i lived to race another day

What happened to the torque? 237 seems a lil low. Is that normal for the M3? Im realy interested in the M3 right now since that lil messaround ricer race. Not that I want one right now but I just want to know if I could of kept up with him if he was willing to race the right way..

Wait, how do you do it??

I dont like to slam through the gears (IE, no clutch feathering, just gas, shift, drop, gas). Instead, I go full throttle 1st, Hit my shift point, then clutch in, gas 80% out, gear change, clutch feather in (quickly, but not a drop). Makes it sound smoother, like the "Baaaaa- shift -buu-aaaaaaa" sound...

PS - dont make me describe the sound again lol

The e46 M is rated at 333hp and 262tq.....its definitely not a torquey monster but its just sooo fast.

When I am racing 100% throttle from 1st till end, just powershift it. Ultimateone your car sounds sweet, ever run it? Prolly hit high 13's...

Running from 70 - 130... dead even.

Ironically enough, we ran into him again a second night... Same results.

Then he and Adam ran, and Adam pulled him.

6sp E46... Any comments Adam?

Yep, as far as I remember he only had the M3 Borla. In 3rd dead even, shifting to 4th at 6500 he pulled his tires past mine then again dead even, till early shut down.

Second time he tried to jump me while his front wheel was at my rear wheel hoping I would not catch on to him . . .hahaha. . . I said to myself BULL$HIT. I took it to 7200 and he fell behind me and could not get any breaks on my high RPM lazy shifts unlike before. 7200 made the difference in this one. M3's are fast! But so am I. I did do much better vs a SMG but I am sure that one was bone stock.

How about you point out how hard you pulled me when shifting to 7200 and having the headers...
