With the fuel and the timing (still not ideal) I have and going deeper in gear, though not as much power as peak, keeps me in a much better power band after the shift.

Oh and if that was an M3 owner trolling, he will just have to accept it. I am modded and can hang. Get over yourself.

No kidding. Definitely best to let things lie. The last thing we need are those photoshops of you brought out again.

Vandy - very nice car man. UltimateOne is a longstanding friend of mine and I am consistently blown away by the potential of the car and the acceleration disparity between my stock automatic G35 and his modified 350Z.

Bring them...

at the current rate my car is being built... and knowing what I can do to a 6sp E46... I'll do it again.

E46s are sure good looking, and ride very comfortable... but the owners are going to have to realize the truth. More so the doubters will have to accept hard evidence.

No argument here. The fastest M3s in the country aren't E46s. Not even close.

Ultimate, i think i listen to your exhaust clips and wicked's also about 5 times a day. Tomorrow is the big day. Getting my exhaust put on, 2 of your mufflers, with piping very similar to the stillen design. Ill have to get a friend with a video camera to video tape me and show everyone. I'm guessing it will be loud, 2 muffs, no resonators, no silencers.

Just my 2 cents, I had the chance to ride in both a near stock E46, (had a muffler) and a few Z's, one being fairly modified, at Willow Springs a few days ago.

My butt dyno says to me that the M3 was faster, most obviously in the straights. On the front straight away, and on the back, we were definitely going about 5-10 mph than the Z.

The comparison is not that valid though, as the driver's were of different driving experience.

The bottom line, the M3 is pretty fast. Not saying it's unbeatable, but it's a nice package.

Thank you. I think the E46 guy simply was a poor driver or not revving his car deeply enough. Stock, they are 104-106mph cars. Definitely not a pushover by any means. Also, they dyno ~275-290whp totally stock. Even though it does weigh a bit more than a 350Z, I'm at a loss how a properly driven one with at least a 20whp surplus would fall to a 255whp Z from a roll.

Even with a crappy 60 foot Phoenix, your 1/8th mile trap is going to need to be at least 83mph.

Not doubting that it happened, just saying that I believe a healthy E46 6 speed that was properly driven should pull you guys pretty convincingly.
