Is there anything out there new as far as ECUs? Are most using the technosquare remaping? Thanks

Default Perfect Power SMT6 Update....

We are still working on developing the perfect power SMT6 for the 350Z. The project was put on hold for a while but we are back working on it. I have had the piggyback installed now for 8 months and have put on over 22,000 miles on it with the only problem being a ses light every once in a while. That is why the project has been delayed. Their are no mechanical issues with it and the problem with the ses is that it is happening so infrequently. It sometimes takes 300 or more miles to come on and then will turn off for the same. We think we have narrowed down the issue and still hope to distribute this to the hundreds that have emailed me over the months. I still have local Z owners that want me to install it for them even with the light, thats how great it is. I wasn't going to post anything yet but I thought you all deserved an update. We also have some back up ecu solutions in the works so just be patient.... Thanks for all the support and see you at the track! Feel free to email me if you have any questions or are in the Jersey area and want to see the system....
Thanks,
Jason

I really am hoping that someone will come out with a way to reprogram the ECU, although the piggy backs will probably be a good option, I just would rather be able to plug in and reprogram with a laptop, the connector is there so you wouldn't even have to install anything on the ECU.

The 300ZX now has a new product where you install a socket to the ECU and reprogram using your laptop.

These guys http://www.ecu-blaster.com/17887/index.html say this product will do that and should be out the second half of this year.

from what i can recall, some member's ecn just not even working on a track day, and 1 member is having a incredible low dyno #s with the ecu(and yes, the member had prove that technsquare ecu is the problem)
thatz all i can think of for now!

We have been working closely with TS. I am on my 5th or 6th flash. What is going on is we get ecu, run it, dyno it, and tell TS what to tweak next. In all honesty, it is working out pretty well for mail order tuning. All in all I am seeing very nice results. I would expect a final version very soon. I would also guess it will work with a similar package (Non Crawford) but it will be tuned specifically for the Crawford package. We will probably throw it on a stock car and see what happens with that. TS is still working hard at better solutions for the Z.

Patience on the ecu front will be rewarding. Everyone is still learning.

I am waiting for someone that knows what they are doing to come out with a good reflash.

We had a club member at Dyno day run with a TS ECU and JWT intake, and he had 231 HP, I would have expected a little more, but the big problem was that he was running with a AF of 14 and started to ping so the only did 2 runs.

He got it reflashed back to stock and still ran 231 but still with an AF of around 14-15, so he will have to see what is wrong wih the car, but it begs the question what did TS do for the ECU if it ran the same before and after reflash.

I've had success with technosquare. I had them reflash me back to stock for the stillen install, but will be increasing fuel flow shortly. It might take a few dynos with a/f, but they are the only game in town right now.

I had to go back and forth with mine several times until we got the air / fuel right. Unfortunately, when your tuner is on the other side of the country it makes it a little difficult. And, I'm gonna have to start all over with the stillen s/c installed now, as I'm a little lean.

They should have lots of experience in the 2 month the 350Z is available in Germany.......... NOT!

P.S. I am from Holland at 10 km from the German border, but I wouldn't let any tuner in the neighbourhood change my ECU.

Mark.

Its atually a company called Digitech that is tuning my cousins M3. They have been working on a project Z's and tuning the ECU. They also import wheels called Rial wheels if anyone has heard of them. They work with my dad and my cousin also so I do trust them.

I drove into TS about two weeks back for my flash.

After he flashed it he (Tadashi) took it out for a spin, came back, removed a plug (again) and said it still needed more fuel.

He then flashed it again, took it out for another run and came back and everything seemed fine.

Well, as I was leaving the SES light came on so i pulled a U-Turn and went back to TS.

I had a random misfire occur so it was determined the car would run better with a one step colder spark plug. So I ran down to the nearest Nissan dealership, picked up the one step down colder plugs, went back to TS, had them install them and the car is now

RUNNING LIKE A BEAST!!!!!!!

After the flash I took it out to the Mossy Nissan Day at Willow Springs and drove it HARD all day long. Not a single ping (misfire) all day or since and the SES light has never returned.

I, for one, am a TS fan......

via mailorder its frankly a mistake....the reflash needs to be done on the car, by someone who knows what they are doing.

I know on mine, I picked up 11 hp and 12 lb feet of torque from the flash alone, thouh it was literally an all day (11 hour) affair due to the configurations of the stock ecu.

My expeirience was similiar to ALL Barks with Tadishi and TS(twice.)

5 test drives to get my 9 PSI dialed in , I actually fell asleep on their couch after the 7 hour drive and they found me a motel for the night on the Internet 2 blocks away. GREAT people and I felt like there shop was my home, hard to find shops like that around here in rude azz Sac.
