I have the similar problem of low idle (650 RPM) after my Nismo flywheel/clutch/K&N intake install. Performance Nissan tried to adjust the idle but some how ECU wont catch it. So Jeff told me prob is my MAF gone bad during the installation. Gonna bring it there before the meet this saturday (7am!!!!) and have my MAF replaced under warrenty. Hopefully that will fix the idle problem.

I went through two MAF's and it's still doing the same thing. There is no way the 2nd one was damaged during install. I was SURE that I installed it correctly and safely. Unless someone can't put the MAF in the slot without banging it around or dropping it, I honestly don't know how you can damage it.

And if it was damaged. . . . I'm sure I would experience more problems than just a very rough idle every once in a while.

Thats all the maf causes your car to do, ride rough when broken. The only other thing I can think of is one of the conections is not connected. Feel with your hand all around the tube to see if something is not connected on the bottom where you cant see.

I checked the bolts where the Pop Charger connects to the tube, and everything is sealed properly, I checked where the tube connects to the TB and everything is fine there, and I also checked the vacume tube on the bottom of the intake and that is fine as well.

I looked over the MAF just now and everything is fine. There has got to be some other problem somewhere. Anyone else have suggestions?

My big question is that maybe this could be the RT Cats? I've seen various other posts regarding the RT Cats and their contribution to the Z running Lean. Is this a possiblility ?

This is just an idea, but could an exhaust leak cause your problem? Otherwise, putting high flow cats will lean out your car a bit, but not enough to ever be worried about damaging your engine if you are running N/A. Also, have you tried resetting your ECU by disconnecting the negative terminal to the battery overnight.

I'd have to go look. . . but you can only put the MAF in one way. If you try to put it in the way it isn't supposed to go, the holes where the screws go won't line up

there are two small arrows on the MAF and the pipe it connects to, both of them need to line up.

I've installed popcharger 3 days ago and I had the same problem, my RPM would drop quicly to 750rpm then slowely to 500rpm and it would try to stall. I had it stall on me one while driving.

I had done an ECU reset and it fixed the problem. Now when the RPM drops, it drops fast to 1000rpm and then slowely to 750rpm, no stalling, every thing is back to normal.

Do a search for ECU reset, it shouldn't take you more then 30min to do it.

for the ECU Reset. . . you mean just disconnect the negative battery cable for 20 - 30 minutes, correct?

I saw a writeup from Technosquare for their ECU Reset procedure but it did nothing but confuse the crap out of me. Would you be willing to post some instructions on what / how you resetted your ECU on the forum?

I can post some later, but all I've done is just followed the Technosquare writeup. From what I've read is that you need to disconnect the battery for 24hours not 20-30min to get the same effect. Also make sure that the two small arrows linup on the MAF sensor.

I had a problem with an inconsistant idle after I installed the pop charger. After I installed a grounding kit, the problem went away. I am sure there are some tech savy folks that can expalin this.

I have the 7 wire grounding kit.

I will disconnect the battery right now and let it sit all night and see what happens.

And Nuff. . . could you still write up what you personall did? The technosquare thing just confused the heck out of me becuase they talk about if you did it right, the check engine light will go off. My CEL hasn't even been on in the first place for it to go off! haha.

I can't wait to see your "lamens terms" write-up from start to finish so I can try it out.
