Default Engine Compartment Temperature?

Does anyone know approx. what temperature our engine compartments will reach? The reason why I ask is because I was thinking about purchasing a sound deadening spray to apply on the exterior of the Kinetix plenum. The spray was designed for industrial use (machinery) and can be applied to metal and plastics. It is fire proof, but is rated to tolerate temperatures up to 350 degrees.

i know the upper intake manifold dosn't reach over 350 degrees
but what is your goal ? is it to reduce the sound characterists of the plenum?

Not the characteristic, just the overall decibels. Another member commented on how the Kinetix plenum drowned out the sound of his exhaust. He also stated that you could hear the drone of the plenum while crusing on the highway. On the plus side, there was a noticable gain in performance.
My car is a daily driver and I prefer more "stealth". I had my RT cats removed because they were too loud for my taste.

I don't know the exact tempurature the compartment reaches, but it is way less than 350.

I can open the hood right after driving and rest my hand on the plenum for 10-15 seconds before it gets uncomfortable. Try grabbing your oven rack for 10-15 seconds @ 350 and you'll look like that dude in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
