lightened flywheel is unbelievable!
Went to Performance Nissan yesterday and had my pulley installed. While I was there, I met Jason and took a ride in his (blue) 350Z. He has a JWT intake, RT cats, Nismo exhaust, and Tilton 11lbs flywheel and racing clutch. I have a JWT intake, Kinetix plenum, Kinetix cats, UR Pulley. The cars should be similar right? No comparison. His car pulls from a roll like a bat out of hell. Felt so much faster than my car. Shifts can be done very quickly too because the RPM's don't hang in the air forever as they do with the stock flywheel. I have not been so impressed with any other mod as I was with the lightened flywheel. If I had to do it all over again, that would have been the first mod. I thought headers would be next but not anymore. If anyone was wondering what the flywheel upgrade was like, let me tell you. It was unfreakenbelievable.
Big props to Jason and Performance Nissan. Install was very quick. Jason was a really nice guy, took time to show me his car and talk shop for a while, and gave me a hell of a ride in his car.
Thanks again Jason.

a lightened flywheel will make u rev faster, but it will not create boost any quicker. it's a better mod for n/a.
and i think the tilton is 8 lbs.

It is useless to run a crank pulley with a supercharger since it they are belt driven and it will lower boost. It is good to use them with a turbo or nitrous since they just magnify the gains. A flywheel can be used with anything.

glad you had fun on the ride!
and I actually think my car is running bad since i havent had an oil change for 7000 + miles ... brb... gonna go tell them to give me one...
ok... it is a 8lb flywheel and the 2 disk cerametallic racing clutch is another 8 lbs... the whole flywheel and clutch assembly weights 16lbs when just the flywheel alone from JWT weights 14 and the clutch is just over 20lbs...
what makes this flywheel / clutch un-streetable is the cerametallic diisk's... they are sooooo grabby...
i got the privledge of driving one of these flywheels in our race cars with the carbon carbon clutch and it was able to slip just like the stock clutch...
but... the carb carbon clutch carry's a hefty price tag of $3375 not including the flywheel and throwout bearing and bolts... but! the carbon carbon clutch has a life almost 3 times longer then the OEM clutch! so per dollar / longevity it is cheeper then the OEM / NISMO / JWT!
We are going to be putting a carbon carbon clutch in jeff's car soon...
We are the exclusive dealer for tilton flywheels and clutches for the 350z... but... if you find a 7.25" clutch that fits your needs... it will work with the TIlton Flywheel!
contact me for special pricing on the tilton flywheel and clutch packages...
we have a couple of customers with the set up i have and after a few days they learn how to drive with it...

but not carbon clutch disk's... they are some times less harsh then the semi-organic disk's that are seen in the NISMO / JWT and OEM disks...

no it doesnt at all actually... unless you are on a long road trip driving on a flat road, because you need to apply throttle all the time rather then just when the car slows down...

when accelerating in gear under 2500 rpm you hear chatter...
when stopped and in neutral you hear chatter...
it is loudest with my flywheel / clutch set up... and when people get inthe car they are like "that is the sound everyone is complaining about, thats not that bad at all"
you learn to drive the car in ways that you dont hear it... like keeping the motor above certian rpms etc...

... I think I know what you mean, but could you explain. Also, can you still use Cruise Control? Any other issues, besides getting going? Thanks

can still use cruise control...
the only time getting going is a problem is with the really super duper wacky grabby clutch I have in my car... but you get used to it... its not a problem for me now...
the flywheel slows the motor down faster when not onthe throttle, so when crusing going straight, rather then the built up enertia in the flywheel keeping the motor going, there is less so you need to apply the throttle more...
