I was only talking about the crank pulley. If you are talking about all 3 pulleys, it will definitely take a little longer. I think you have to take the alternator out to install that pulley but you definitely don't have to remove the radiator.

2-3 hours is what it takes to do the 3 pulley kit. If your shop has never done this job before is just padding the job to make sure they don't loose their ***. Talk to them and ask why the high labor estimate. If they are reputable, they should give you a reasonable estimate and only charge you for the time it actually takes.

Good luck.....

Thanks guys. I am indeed only interested in the crank pulley. I did say that to the service guy, but perhaps he automatically assumed I meant all three.

No, I asked and was also told 2-3 hours and removal of the radiator because they have to be able to get the air gun in there, they don't know how to work without them.

I did the job last night with an 18" breaker bar! It took some serious grunts, but the bolt gave in. It took me two hours total, only because I finished in the dark at 8:30pm, and had to feel my way around the bottom of the car to reinstall the plastic cover.

Easy DIYer. By the way, no gloves and NO CUTS! First project I have ever done with out shredding up my hands.

Love the mod!

My fiancee stepped on the brake. I yanked on that biatch... the bolt, not the fiancee, with every ounce of strength in my body to get it to move. And yes, it is counter clockwise.

Yeah, It's pretty tough.
I did it alone. I put the car in 6th and jacked up the parking brake as hard as I could.
I ended up using a 3ft steel fence post that I bought from Home depot. It worked great.

i also used the "blip" method with an 18' breaker bar. nothing to it.

i think i overtightened the belts though. how did you guys know when to stop tightening?

I just did it by feel, I would tighten until there was a slight deflection on the belts and no noises from slipping.

Mine are so tight that there is no flex at all. But, there is also no squeeling! My tensioners could still go tighter too and I am using the belt UR recommends.
