I don't really know what do you mean by saying that? lose power at 5K rpm have nothing to do with the rev limiter though, if the rev limiter kicks in at 5K rpm, your car will have NO GO after 5K already....

No the rev limiter does not kick in that early at all.
Are you experianceing a SEVERE loss of power? Then something may be wrong. Or do you feel it just tappers off?

We have noticed with my old supercharged setup, and even some mildly modified 350z's that under severe driving conditions (drifting) the car will heat up and throw it into a limp mode temporarily. and it completely cuts out at about 5k. the only way to get it to stop is to retune the car, or just get rid of the stock ecu, and get it to run cooler. You could always not beat on it so hard, but whats the fun in that.
