Default Rough idle...

I posted at another site, but was hoping to get more feedback here.

I had a polished plenum installed about a month ago. Professional install and the plenum was brand new. I have driven the car about 4 times since then (CT driver here) and have noticed that my idle is rough. It stays at 750rpm for a bit then dips down. When I get out of the car and listen... it sounds like it is sputtering a bit. Car shakes alittle.

I don't feel any loss of power at all while driving it. Appears to be only when stationary. 5500 miles on the car... babied. No performance mods!

I made an appt. at the dealer for this Friday. I am nervous!

Whataya guys think?

Vacuum line?
Bad Spark plug?
Bad fill up of gas!

Bad gas could cause the problem, as could a vacuum leak.

I have a similar problem with rough idle then dropping off and misfire. It is showing up as a lean condition on the right side O2 sensor. As to the cause......that is still to be determined.

Thanks Shocka... appreciate the feedback. I am surprised... I got more responses from zcar.com. Ha!

We'll see what the dealer says.

Please keep me posted on this, I am having the same exact problem, and I have the following mods on my Z: Crawford Plenum, Japtrix Y-Pipe & Mid-Pipe, UR Crank Pulley, drop-in K&N.

I am also concerned as to what could be causing this, one Forum member who was having the same problem told me that it was his MAF sensor. I was also wondering if maybe a fouled spark plug could be causing it. Any feedback on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

The Z is notrious for a rough idle...even in stock configuration. A lot of folks installed grounding kits, and it immediately smoothed out the idle.

My idle was more than rough and it didn't sound very good...even from the outside. Almost like it wanted to stall.

I got a call from the dealer today and they said that there was a leak in the intake gasket!! They did several computer tests.. etc.

My dealer isn't mod friendly (even cosmetically) and I did not get this installed with them. We'll see if the dealership that ordered/installed this for me can contact my delaership to get this taken care of. Otherwise...trip to NY is in the works.

Funny thing is... this confirms why I should leave the car the way it was from the damn factory and just enjoy driving it! So annoying.

Hope that helps guys.
