from a friend at Bosch:

Yes, the straight 6 is balanced well - no doubt - but I don't think he is really attacking the balance of the whole motor, moreso the strain and vibrations seen on the crank itself.. He is stating that a straight 6 crank will see more flexing than V-6 crank and have more vibrations along the crank (i.e if you compare the strain and vibration from one end to the other of a straight 6 crank, you will have a greater delta (change) than if you compare them end to end on a V-6 crank). I would say this fact is very true - torsion applied on a longer beam will mean more radial deflection and more vibrations... But all this, to me, doesn't really matter......we all know the 2JZ is practically bullet-proof.

Stroking an engine increases torque and low end power but takes away high revving. The VQ30 can be reved to 9000 rpm with upgraded valvetrain(retainers and pistons). I say the highest you want want to rev the stroker is stock redline or 7000 rpm.

I think I'd be happy if the stroker could hit 8000 rpm. Thats about as far as i would want to go. I dont want to get one of those MONSTER tachs or anything.

If I am burning 4.3L + 15 psi, that's ~ 8.6 L of air total. I wouldn't mind shifting at 6600 rpm!

Does that price enclude machine work?

An inline 6 is rather long. And the cylinders move in pairs. 1 and 6, 2 and 5, and 3 and 4 make the 3 pairs. So imagine the 3 pairs of pistons moving in the 4 cycles. Now if this inline 6 was making 1000 horses, the 1 and 6 rods would be pushing the ends of the long crank with ruffly 333 hp. At least thats what I think nisseng was tring to say.

does anybody know the cost fully installed and lets say since the cost is so high of course what would happen if you ran the car at 8.5 to 1 N/A for a while how much hp / torque would you have while you are now scraping together another 7-10k more for the turbos??
