Question Ecu

I have had my jwt popcharger for about 2 months. I just got my nismo exhaust w/crawford cats installed. should I reset my ECU or something, or will my car figure it out on its own?

If I should reset it what is the best way to do it?

Disconnect the battery.....depress the brake pedal a few times to get all power out of the system...and let it sit overnight. Hook it back up in the morning and you should be good to go.

Yea, it would probably be best. However, I don't buy the battery disconnect solution (just my opinion). I think the ECU has solid state memory (aka - Flash memory). So, it is best to follow the reset procedure in the manual.

Far be it from me to differ with a Nissan Dealer, however....
Pages EC-70 & EC-71 in the 2003 350Z Service Manual states:

"* If the battery is disconnected, the emissions-related diagnostic information will be lost after approx. 24 hours.
* The following data are cleared when the ECM memory is erased.
- Diagnostic trouble codes
- 1st trip diagnostic trouble codes
- Freeze frame data
- 1st trip freeze frame data
- System readinesstest (SRT) codes
- Test values
- Others

Actual work procedures are explained using a DTC as an example. Be careful so that not only the DTC, but all of the data listed above, are cleared from the ECM Memory during work procedures."

I've used both the battery disconnect and the accelerator reset procedure (picture from page EC-73) in the past.
