there is really no way for us to do that, as we don't have any engine cores available to us (and we are not a machine shop). We could offer the components as a set obviously, but it's not feasible for us to go beyond that for mailorder customers

ok cool a set would be what im interested in as i have been wanting to make mine rev higher safely for a longtime, i will be doing a build up soon and will contact you when im ready. mostly my concerns are that i dont want to be the first one to do something like this. im hoping that maybe a company will offer a tested engine package that will allow you to build yours up just like their project car, like a staged upgrade system that will produce x results and handle y rpm limit. i dont like doing guess work but do want to make my car faster.

well, these are NISMO factory direct components, so they have done the testing prior to releasing them.

Thing is though, there is no way for anyone to "guarantee" it all, as it requires professional install. Only way we could issue sucha "guarantee" is if we did it.

just think adjustable cam gears, like on a honda, it allows timing adjustments beyond what is normally possible, without using a reflash/piggyback. correct anything i said if its wrong.

the details are all on our site guys

it provides more overall cam timing advancement - they are not manually adjustable, since the ecu controls cam timing

If you used a higher degreed cam(s). Would you have to purchase one of those competiton heads for it to fit. Or can you use the stock head. What is the most agressive degreed cams our cars can use without replacing the stock head.

any of these cams can be made to fit into stock heads guys..how much machining is needed, or what other mods are needed, is anyone's guess at this point, as no one I am aware of has ventured into true headwork yet.....I guess in that regard, I'll be the first

VTEC uses two completely different cam profiles - A HIGH RPM one and a LOW RPM one. The two profiles have different lifts and durations, each optimized for its own portion of the RPM band. During low speed operation, the rocker for the high speed cam is free to float (since the valves are attached to the low speed rockers). When the crossover point is reached, and pin is soved into a hole on the high speed rocker which then locks it to the low speed rocker and therefore to the valve. Now the valve follows the high speed rocker. At least this is how I remember it working. They may have made some improvements with the engagement and everything.

Anyhow, with the Z, you just have variable cam timing, which means the entire cam is rotated slightly as the rev's change. You don't get any extra duration or lift, but you can change the timing somewhat.

Anyhow, the VTEC is from memory, so the details may not be exactly right, but the important point is that you are using two distinct profiles, rather than the same profile but just phased differently.

so with those extra mods, such as cams + cam pockets + valves, do we need the new software to accompany with those mods too? and does nismo offer it as well?

cheers,

there is not any NISMO software offered outside of Japan - best bet would be a reflash, or custom tuning

I would be interested in a package for internal parts.

I have been waiting for a full set to come out to keep the install prices down.

Let me know when parts become available and what kits are offered from you if you choose to offer any. Im thinking that with a TT setup some of these parts would be excellent... and definatley needed

I really apprecitated the package you offered for the Defi Gauges I bought two weeks ago... kept costs down... hope you could do the same for the above... I would be a return customer

I wish Nismo would come out with some HFcats or a plenum. I know there are Nismo HFcats but not for the US market and they cost over a grand..

I also wish they would have more S-tune parts. Like they could change their headers to S tune for example. I'd jump all over that.
