Default I have a base, and want to turn off the tcs

How can I turn off the traction control system? I am sure I am going to have to unplug something. Any suggestions?

You'd better duck.

The base doesn't have TCS.

The base has TCS, but it doesnt have the options to turn it off. I am looking for a manual way to turn it off.

Base model does not have TCS- if it did you would have a button to turn it off.

You are not driving it hard enough if you think the base has TCS.

Try going around a wet corner and give it some gas in a low gear . . .on second thought dont, you might wreck it.

I'd avoid that until you learn a few more things about your Z.

there is no t/c on base what is probably happening is because there is no limited slip diff in a base you cant "drift" becasue you can only break one tire loose. You will never drift in that car unless you install a LSD.!

This is on its way to becoming best thread ever.

The base does not have VDC or TCS or a LSD. It has an open differential. VDC is your hands, and TCS your right foot.

you can force that other one to break loose. not like you CANT drift, its just a little more difficult and not quite as slippery.

Listen,

I own a base, and before I installed my LSD, I could get the car sideways very easily..

you must subscribe to the "DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT" theory to push the car to new performance heights..

Go to a wide open area and practice..you will be surprised at what the car can do...

good luck.

Yeah i know you can get the car sideways but you could never drift an open diff car....not that Thunder0880 would know that anyway ha ha

Thunder my reccomendation would be to read the owners manual front to back twice over before you attempt any more driving on public streets LOL

Yup, I used to have a '90 NON TURBO 300zx (slooooooow & without LSD) & it used to break the rear end loose without much trouble on turns, I'm sure the guy is not trying hard enough

Driving, shifting gears and smoking a blunt all at the same time is well beyond my coordination. I can only imagine being high makes it ten times as hard.
