the silver finish on my stock shifter was chippin off, so i got a chrome nismo one. the finish on that has become fuzzy where my hand grabs it. i bought a leather nismo, but it doesn't fit. anybody have any luck with a shifter that looks good for a long period of time?

wouldnt the stock finish on the original shifter be a warranty item? i would just let them replace it with a new stock one.

Default What silver finish on stock?

Was it the guide diagram? b/c I think performance nissan sells replacements for those for like $5 or less. If it's the ring under the shifter...maybe you can find one used for cheap? There seem to be so many people replacing the stock shift ****...and to be honest it suits the car the best of all I've seen.

yeah, i had no complaints about it besides the chipping. it's like the polished aluminum or something on the thing. it's around the base of it.

I think I know what part you're talking about. My stock shifter's silver paint started chipping around the base, so I later replaced it with a Nismo titanium shift ****

Thanks guys.. I have been on this forum for over a year now and honestly, FarSeide I don't care bout you. Go trade your Z in for a Barbie Power Wheels, and go flame on the Barbie Forum.

Anyway, CaneZMD.. I have always wanted to be a patent attorney. My current Enginering position (Boeing, F-15 Program) paid for my MBA so I figured what the hell. The law degree is coming.... I suggest everyone continue their education, best thing I ever did.

what about the rubber NISMO shifter? ...I find it hard to believe that something so expensive like the NISMO shift **** fade or dull. you think you might have gotten a defective batch? Maybe you can try contacting NISMO. They might send you a free replacement. Hopefully everything works out. Sorry for your misfortune.

ps
If you do decide to contact NISMO about your problem, let us know how it goes. Im sure most of us would want to know how they treat their customers.

Try to post some pics of your shifter. I want to see how bad it is.
