Default Vq4.0

Is it possible and or has anyone fit the new VQ4.0 in a 350Z or G35? Would wieght be an issue for the front? I hear those engines can make 310hp.

There's a lot of easier ways to add 23bhp to a Z (310-287=23) than doing a motor-swap...

...that's why nobody would waste their time/money doing this.

...and why would an extra 12.5% displacement make that much difference when you're talking turbocharging...???

If you want more capacity you're probably better off looking at a stroker kit rather than try and swap engines.

Why not just buy the crank of the 4.0 and stick it into the 3.5 and have custom pistons and rods made. Have the crank balance and polished. This would be a sick setup for going turbo. It would probably be a cheaper alternative to a stroker and give you some good revs. I think the displacement would bump up to about 3.7 or so.

Uhhhhh... why are you stuck on putting parts from a Pathfinder engine into a Z?

Why not go aftermarket/forged/better-than-stock if you're going to go through the trouble at all?

The V8 is too heavy. The cars balance would be screwed up. You'd have loads of understeer.

If you insist on doing an engine swap take a Q-45 @345hp at least you would feel that, 23xtra hp you would be very disapointed not to mention you wouldn"t even feel it

well I can get the VQ40 cheaper and it pretty much weights the same, as the VQ35, the VK45 will drasticly change handling characterisitcs.
