Is the Tilton flywheel/clutch combo to much?
I just now broke in my Z and want to start modding. I already know that I want Nismo cams, intake (JWT, K&N CAI, or Gruppe M) Fuji y-pip and exhaust, Crawford headers and cats (or other recomendations), Kinetix plenum and other various items. I was wondering if the Tilton flywheel/clutch combo to much for a daily driver?, or would anyone recomend something else?. Thank you.

It just takes a while to get used to. Hills are not fun though, I still just dump the clutch on a very steep incline if I have a car behind me. It does make some squeaking noise when letting the clutch out in gear. But it revs like no other car I have heard and I dynoed at 265 at the wheels with it, Borla TD, Jwt popcharger, and crank pulley. I do daily drive mine.

you would love it if you ran with it... but... you will hate it just the same... It all depends on the type of drive you are...
I absolutly love mine... and I know JoeNismo will be loving his even more soon...
I also daily drive my car.. I have had over 14000 miles on my tilton so far...
I have posted many threads and reviews with it...
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to talk about it... I can call you and tell you more about it if you dont feel you got enough out of my other threads about it...

The cement mixer sound at idle is not bad at all, for me. You do have to understand that these things are all based upon opinions. I really like mine and I am glad I chose this flywheel/clutch setup over the others. I mean if you are going to do it, might as well go all out right. You won't be disappointed.

It really isn't hard at all to launch. In fact I think it launches just as well. The flywheel is lightweight so it doesn't add as much momentum to the motor. This helps when I launch at about 2250 rpm it doesn't tend to spin the tires as bad. Also when shifting between 1st and 2nd I used to be able to spin my tires for quite a while(with old setup). Now I don't spin as badly between 1st and 2nd because there is less weight adding to the momentum of the engine. I think this is a good thing because spinning the tires was just a wasted motion. Now at the drag strip it was another story, I did have a real hard time launching, I think I just need more practice there.

Anybody ran the Tilton FW at 130mph plus? Does the engine having less momentum cause the Z to pull less at speeds these high? Does that make sense? At say 135-140 where you are almost redlining 5th, would a Tilton eqiupped car get pulled by a stock FW Z because the heavier FW is helping the car keep its momentum? Get what I'm saying...Jason can you let me know? TIA

I had my original one in for just over 18000 miles and it still had a ton of life on it...
and I do not believe I mentioned this before... but.. you can have the Tilton Flywheel re-surfaced, and the pressure plate remanufactured for a minimal cost from Tilton
