Default New Dyno #'s

Let me start by saying this thread is not for people to flame any manufacturer. This is my newest dyno since the addition of the NISMO headers and Crawford Vs 5 Plenum. Please leave any negative comments off this thread and understand my comments
are simply my thoughts and opinions.

I will say that I am Impressed with both mods and the seat of the pants feeling that I get from 4,500 all the way to redline. I wished I had dynoed after just the addition of the headers so I could give you guys a better breakdown of the individual hp gains from each mod but hindsight is 50/50. I can say that my original baseline was 232 rwhp and 220 rwt, so I am very happy with the gains I have picked up being a NA car.
The Crawford intake was a straightforward install and the black powder coat finish was very well done, I can honestly say that I am very impressed with the gains from 4,000 and up and if you look at the dyno you will see where we were still climbing and hit the stock rev limiter, I will definitely be adding the re-flash soon to raise rev limiter to 7,200.
The Dyno compares my latest run (4/28/04) to my prior dyno which did not include the headers or Crawford Plenum, so a 19 rwhp gain and 12 rwt to me is impressive.

This also proves that Sport Compact Car magazines article was wrong and full of Cr@# on the NISMO R-Tuned Z only gaining 10 rwhp, as you can see by my signature, I am all NISMO less Test Pipes and Crawford Plenum and, I did change over to the Jim Wolfe Pop Charger.

Hope this helps some of you guys...

Your use of Vs. confused me a bit. I though U were sayin Crawford "versus" 5. But now I see that it means Version.
I'm used to using V. as an abbreviation for Version.

Anyways, very nice gains. I'm considering a Plenum soon, but I heard about fitment issues. Maybe I'll just buy the Crawford v.5 for since it seems to work for you. BTW, you say the install is "straighfoward", does that mean it has a perfect fitment?

Fitament was perfect, no issues whatsoever. Strut tower brace was nice too.

If I'm reading it correctly his base was 232 HP and his last dyno run was 270 HP. That's a 38 HP gain with all the mods above.

Yes these are the gains with the Crawford Plenum and Nismo Headers. The previous dyno was with NISMO Exhaust, NISMO CAI, NISMO Camshafts and Helix Test Pipes.

These Numbers are SAE Corrected and we used smoothing to try and take the blip out that shows up around 6,500.

Thumbs up

Very impressive hp #'s....must be nice to have a Z that actually pulls all the way to redline. I think you made a good choice in running the pop-charger with the Crawford plenum. One thing though, compared to other dynos I've seen with cams, your tq seems kind of low. Good job on the car.

Yea I agree, I have seen dyno's on Z's running the JWT cams and they are getting much more torque gains, plus the Crawford Headers are producing better gains than the NISMO, But as you know I am sponsored by North Point Nissan so you go with the parts they sale, even though I did remove the NISMO CAI and add the JWT Pop Charger Thanks for the props..

Good move on the CAI swap, that possibly accounts for at least 10 out of the 18 you gained.

Wow does a CAI suck that bad for the Z? I mean I've driven a Z with the CAI and a Z with the pop-charger and felt no difference at all except that the jwt popcharger was louder at higher revs. Thats about it. Will a CAI be holding back power if I add a plenum to my car?
