Default More torque at 3000 rpm?

What mods are going to give me more torque in the 3000-4000 rpm range. Maybe, I mean HP. The car is a dog under 4000. What can I do to correct it?? My only mod is a K&N Typhoon.

Thanks

My Crawford Headers made a big difference in this area.

Are you sure it's not in your head? My car feels strong all across the powerband. Then again, I did step from a high-revving 4 banger (only ~125 torque!)

It is not in my head, below 4K this car is a dog. Over 5K it is very nice. If you are doing 3K in second gear or 3rd gear and punch it, I personally am disappointed. So, you change your driving habits and keep the revs up if you want power.

I am not looking to debate anyone, just looking for answers.

Headers without a doubt....i have nismo and noticed a difference in low end torque (2000-4000 specifically)

LIghter flywheel also will give you quicker response albiet with a noise.

Most install prices posted have varied an awful lot. I have seen $300 up to and above $600 for header install depending on how motivated the service location is to do the job. If you can find a location that has done it a few times, then it may cost less because you learn what not to do and the little tricks, making the install much faster. With such a linear acceleration this car just feels different than many other cars, which really takes a while to get used to, or it did for me I should say. The headers really did help me feel more satisfied though.

FINALLY, someone who sees the light . I agree 110%. The car has noooo bite. I feel that only 1st gear is truly powerful, and 2nd only after 4K RPM. Anything else is just 'sporty'. Have to floor it all the time to get any kind of pull.

That's why I got Stillen (just received the kit today).

Cheers.

our car's power is ver linear like someone said already so the power feel is not aways gonna be felt but its there. However, you have to realize, its am import. Import cars not are meant to show great tq unlike american cars. You should be greatful your driving a car with this much tq and can reach max tq 270hp just a little over 4grand while other import cars at 4 grand is still at 1xxtq.

What other import can can give you 270tq stock at 4-4.5k beside the damn evo and sti.

The Z/G are more like the "american" muscle car of japan. High TQ and high HP. Only thing holding us back really the the weight. If you start spending $$$ on weight reduction i bet you will feel the difference.

If you want instant power you drop down a gear...thats what the close ratios are for. Adding 50hp isn't going to change that!

Maybe what you want is a very very light flywheel. The tacho is definitly move when you step on the gas.
