Yeah, those slicks made a huge difference. I bet you would have been mid 13s without them. That 1.75 60 foot is very nice.

Wouldn't the M&H be considered a 5th bolt-on? It's not OEM obviously.
I definitely would consider them a bolt on. On street rubber, he'd be probably be looking at 2.0 60' times and mid-13s for the quarter.

Not to take anything away from this accomplishment, but the rubber needs to be considered a mod. In fact, in this applications, I bet the racing rubber is doing as much or more to lower his ETs than all the other mods combined.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Yes i personally would consider the slicks a 5th bolt-on but what i'm saying is only 4 bolt-on's to the motor..
Part of the reason why i traveled 500 miles to run at a sea level track is to show ALOT of people that the Z is faster than what some people are making it be..

People with 100shots are barely running 12.8's in the 1/4... I mean come on is it really worth the money and time to go out there with a 100shot and run a 2.4 60'ft and a 12.8??
Slicks do add alot... No way would anyone run the same times on a stock car... Sorry.... a 13.0 with only a 103 trap means i'm driving the holy **** out of the car..

As far as launch and shifting.
I launched off rev-limiter as you can hear in the video. my 1-2 shift is slow because i don't trust the synchro's for second cause i'm on my 3rd tranny because of nissan's weak design... But 3-4 and 4-5 i power shift (meaning never let my foot come off the gas).

Yes the tires helped... Yes you could consider them a bolt-on... But take it as you want 4 or 5 bolt-on's still no1 has done it and i hope ALOT of you follow and show people what the Z can really do..

I'm curious, what RPM were you shifting at? It seems you would have hit the limiter if you didn't drop off the gas for an instant when shifting.

i was shifting at about 6400...
I have and can shift at redline without it bouncing off rev-limiter but i chose not to on these runs cause my faster times seemed to be coming from a lower rpm shift.
my 1-2 shift is at redline though..

Am I right to assume that with driving like this, on a totally stock car, one could run a ~13.7??

if you had an absolutely perfect run and near sea level.

Yes of course.

if you are at a sea level track and got a 2.0 60ft you could run a 13.7 on a bone stock car.

Awesome results. If I was a mod, i'd surely sticky this at the top of the racing forum.

Great run!! Sorry didn't mean to side track the post, is that SRT4 stock? if not, do you know what mods are on it?
Again, excellent run.

the SRT has AGP FMIC, AGP Wastegate actuator, Stage 1 ECU, 3-inch turbo-back exhaust, 3-inch intake, and 17psi.
his run before that he ran a 12.5 to my 13.1

surely half of that difference or more (from stock to 13.0) came from the slicks alone, since the trap speed is only 1-2mph better than stock. Good time either way, congratulations!

usualy a lower 60ft means a lower mph too.

I'm guessing with street tires of same diameter he would be spinning a lot more and trapping a lot faster 105-106+ wouldn't know precisely

get some slightly larger slicks that allow you to cross the 1/4 marker at the top of fourth and you could possibly nail a 12.9x as the car sits now.
