Exclamation Horse power gains with these mods....

I'm in the process of getting rid of my 02 Acura CL-S and getting a 350Z. I will be adding nismo parts to the car from the dealer and will also be adding Injen intake and K&N Air filter. Specifically, I'm getting the Nismo exhaust and headers. (S-tune)

What would my total horsepower gain be with all of the mods listed above. (Nismo exhaust + Headers + Injen intake + air filter) = ???

I'm assuming a total of 30 total hp gain and a 1-2 tenth of a second quicker 0-60 but I don't want to assume.

Please reply.

no chance at getting 30hp gain with those gains.... closer to 8 to 10 hp at the wheels....

I have NISMO intake, Crawford plenum, NISMO headers, Borla Dual exhaust and I made 246hp at the wheels, up 9 from my baseline 237hp

If you want to get close to 30hp you're gonna need NISMO cams and a new ECU flash along with all the other stuff you mention

Thanks for the reply. Is there any reason you decided to go with the Borla exhaust over the Nismo exhaust? Also, what does the plenum do? Finally, don't ECU flashes void warranty? See, I'm going to try and stick with all Nismo parts because they are covered under manufact warranty.

S-tune parts are covered by the Nissan Dealer
R-tune parts are not covered but they wont void your warranty on other Nissan parts..

im sorry but i love when people post about how x number of ppl have looked and noone responded. like said before, expect maybe 10whp increase. Get some high flow cats and a plenum and add maybe another 7/8.

I won the Borla exhaust in a drawing from the manufacturer of the grounding kit that I use.... hard to pass that up!

The plenum opens up the intake tract and allows for a little bit better air flow at higher RPMs...

I would think that an ECU reflash will effect warranty on certain parts that would be damaged by the reflash, but it won't void the entire warranty.... if your power-window motors fail and you have an ECU reflash, the warranty on the motors cannot be voided, but if you throw a piston rod through the side of the engine and you have an ECU reflash, Nissan has a pretty good case against you

Cheers,

PeteH

Want a package that makes power?

Crawford headers, cats, and plenum... and exhaust of your choice, and the ECU flash...

18-22 peak, near 40hp at redline...

Want to make power? Come and play! www.CrawfordZ.com

i also love how the person asking the question doesn't even have a z yet ...and whats up with changing the filter on the injen intake ...not knocking trying things out but i would think this product has already been engineered to be optimum with the filter provided

since every car is different i don't even see how you could estimate the hp unless someone had the exact same mods...then you might have an idea

...dont hold your breath

that might make you a few ponies but no where near 30, or 1-2 denths 0-60

dont get the nismo exhaust, its expensive and gets weak gains!

Get the borla or injen, much better HP gains!

I have the stillen unit myself, very nice.

Look for 15 to 18 hp. RWHP will be in the 250hp+ range.

My auto z with just a intake is putting down 240 at the wheels. So with crawford plenum, crawford headers, crawford high flow cats, injen dual exhaust, 350 evo throttle body, underdrive pulley. grounding kit, and ecu reflash i hope to have high 280's.

Just make it look nice instead of wasting the money trying to make it faster!!! IF not, the only good use of money is Turbo kit!! Thank you.

Nice package...

Though I would not hold your breath, Adam (VandyZ) has a very similar setup and has a 6sp.

6sp's dyno higher, and he's only making mid 260s.

I would hate for you to spend all that not to hit your goal. For an auto to hit 280s you're going to need BIG cams.
