Not sure if this will work with my car. Just wanted to get some wise feedback from u guys.

go to www.easyperformance.com look for Octane boost wizard It will give you different stuff you can use and calculate how much to use . Im going to use Toluene from the paint store . 2 gallons to 8 gallons of 92 octane gas makes 96.3 octane gas . Cost $ 7.00 a gallon

Wow, I would be VERY cautious in doing this. Fuel is funny stuff in that each batch has it's own unique characteristics. The 93 octane you buy from the pump one day can be totally different chemically than the stuff you buy from the exact same pump the next day. So long as it fits within certain parameters, they can call it 'premium'. Trust me, I've spent 4 years blending fuel for an oil major. Xylene, while it does have great octane properties, also has a very high distillation curve. IE, it burns off VERY quickly with next to no residuals. Problem is that this can cause catastrophic detonation in an engine if impropperly mixed. Because you don't know the distillation curve for the specific batch of fuel you're buying from the pump, this could turn out very bad. Feel free to try it if you like, but I can tell you from personal experience, I have seen a guy set fire to his car with a catastrophic detonation trying to mix his own fuel like this. ps, where are you getting the xylene from? Is it commerically available in Bahrain?

ive done it, and it works. Just dont tell the gov't as its very... illegal hehe

I raise octane on my cars a full tankful every 3000 and it keeps things running clean. Never have to run any injector cleaner through it.

BTW, you can pick up toulene at any paint store.

Run your tank close to empty, then put in how much every you want to use (I use 2 gallons), then fill up your tank.

What risk are you talking about? Do you have experience with something that has happened?

I dont think there is much risk . Just dont mix it wrong . Dont get any on your paint, and if you get some on your hands ...wash it of right away . Ive read a couple articles on it form petrolium engineers who say...toluene is exactly what they use in gas to raise octane...along with some lubricants

Without MMO, Toluene will do a number on your valve seals. A lubricant is needed.
