www.driveshaftshop.com

They were suppose to be working on half-shafts for the 350z. Have you popped a stock half-shaft? What were the conditions?

I checked with "driveshaft.com" yesterday and they said they didn't have anything.

Conditions: Left the line after soaking my slicks in "VHT" at 6200 rpm's with a 200 shot. "It Hooked" !! Went approximately 6 inches and snapped the driver's side half-shaft.

You were right about driveshaftshop.com, they are developing axles for the 350z. I was talking earlier to driveshaft.com (no shop in the address) and they are not. Thanks for the info!

Glad the info helped.

What sort of time frame till they are ready? I have a feeling I will be in need of upgraded axles in the near future.

Mike,
Check out these two links for info. The club sent this out on June 28. Hope you're getting your ZNEWZ!

Sept. 11 in Bowling Green, KY.

Thanks Randy,

I am getting ZNEWZ and I thank you for it! My problem is that the 2 links you talk about go nowhere when I click on them. Bowling Green isn't that far so I'm sure I'll attend if "the car" is in one piece come September!!

If I was to put thicker axles in the rear, are there any disadvantages at all in a drift/road racing car that might wanna try drag racing too? Besides maybe a little more weight?

Mr B,

IMO, I wouldn't spend the money unless you are going to do "more" than try drag racing! This is the first time I broke an axle and it was while using slicks with only 8 lbs of pressure and a large shot of n2o. My suspension is also set to have all the weight shift to the rear so I would never attempt to use my setup for road racing.

brian... more depends on your hp .. its the take offs that will brake an axle..

axles usually only brake on slicks as it won't let you spin your wheels as much which than puts great stress to your axle.

there is driveshafts for drifting also though that you might look into.. pretty much it allows it to bend more so it doesn't vibrate the rest of the parts so it last longer

Thanks mjedens and Brian. I figured that I wouldn't break it just from drag racing a few times, but just in case for the future. If I do have massive power, I wanna be sure I can put it down to the pavement with slicks so axles sounded like a good idea. Then I realized that slicks usually come in 15's and there's no ways I can fit anything smaller than a 17" over my rear brake. Eh, money saved I guess.

Jason,

Stillen Exhaust with test pipes! I bought a Stillen back when they were the only choice and have never regretted it. My test pipes have cut outs on them.

Brian,

16" Weld Pro Star XP"s will fit over Brembo Brakes.

I think they make 17" drag radials, right? Still not slicks though.
