What is noticble?...

I took this set up to the drag strip recently. Launching is MUCH easier and I was able to have control of launching at RPM's higher then IDLE!

I
Are you ready

what kind of times were you getting with thtis setup and was it better than rally setup at drag strip?

well...

the last time I went to that track my best 60foot was 2.08 something... but, i was struggling to get 2.2's...

this time, the tempretures were about 25 degrees hotter... I had 3 easlily achieved 60foots of low 2.2's running normal PSI and launching at IDLE. I unfortunatly did not have much time to do many runs so wanted to do the most important launchies which are at Idle... those are the ones that are easily stalled with the other tilton set up...

Now that I know that works, the next time I go to the 1/4 I will get there earlier to get more runs in and try launching at even higher rpm's...

as far as trap speeds and est...

My best run of the 3 runs I was able to get in that night... I ran this with another 350z on this board with a stock clutch but intake plenum / cai / high flow cats / exhaust... he will remain namless... but here are our numbers next to eachother actually I will post 3-350z times...

My best of 3...

60ft - 2.247
------- 6.164
------- 9.380
------- XXXX?
------ 12.048
------ 14.452
ET - 96.965MPH

350z # 1
60ft - 2.286
------- 6.166
------- 9.389
------ 76.359MPH
------ 12.093
------ 14.527
------ 95.832MPH

350z #2
60ft - 2.275
------- 6.325
------- 9.648
------ 74.645MPH
------12.396
------ 14.877
------ 94.025MPH

With a very similar launch between my car and 350z#1 you can see the acceleartion difference... on a rolling start of a race from 65mph to 100mph my car would be 3 car lengths ahead is my guess...

My launch was at IDLE... not sure what they launched at but I know it wasnt idle, 350z#1 lives down the street from my girlfriend... heh

oh and for those who dont know... this was at PALMDALE LACR Race Way... and it SUCKS!!!!!!! It is at high elevation... Gravel everywhere... and I hear the track goes UP HILL! It is a very slow track, and was about 80 degrese and about 3000 above sea level... correct me if im wrong about the elevation...

hey jason were going up there today. wanted to know if you were going to be there i met you there last time and you promised me a ride but with your lady there i felt it rude to have her wait outside the car. so i never asked again. anyways if you go il see you there and yes palmdale does suck as a track. as far as the ets go with colder weather you could do allot better i ran a 14.2 there stock this was about a year ago though. so hope to see you there

im curious why they went with a ceremetallic disk for a streetable clutch? why not just use organic to reduce cost on it?

My girl was here? hrmm...

there is not enough surface area to use a "organic" disc with this set up... it wont handle the heat ...

That was me running jason.. no shame in my #'s while running 19" wheels on heavy (32lb) S03 tires. My first time at a dragstrip and my best that night was a 14.58.

Also here's the correction info from the website:

L.A.C.R. Altitude Correction:

L.A.C.R. is 2,710 ft. above sea level.
To figure the altitude factor the formula is:
ET: multiply your et (at L.A.C.R.) by .9679
MPH: multiply your mph (at L.A.C.R ) by 1.0337
This will give you the ET & MPH at sea level.

If I can live with my Tilton rally clutch on the street, and plan to go SC eventually, there's no reason to switch to the street clutch, right?

Imagine the effects of four JWT flywheels.

The tilton makes the Z feel like it has a turbo. My car pulls like mad. but I have the cerametallic twin plate tilton. Starting from a stop is damn hard. but once I'm going, it's a blast. This is a HUGE performance gainer for either a stock or modified Z. Just takes a while to get use to.
