I drove the car.....

All i can say is wow... this thing revs like crazy now.....

First gear is a little tricky off the start because off 5% slip but you have a little room to play.... after that driving is normal... besides the fact that it revs like a monster...

The pedal stop takes a little getting used too I want to push a little farther by habit but ill get used to it... Im just afraid that ill grind a gear from not using enough clutch

You can hear the clutch squeal a little...(this was expected from a email Jason sent me) but it has decreased from the drive home ( considerably) maybe from being broken in....and the cement mixer sound isnt that bad cause once you adjust to driving you can minimize it and at a dead stop it isnt that bad.....

The only wierd thing that happened was that when I was on the interstate driving home i droped into 4th hit the gas shifted to 5th....hit the gas again....tried to shift into 6th and it would not go in.....tried about 3 times and the engine shut off..... so im going about 100mph and in neutral..... i was gonna pull off the road but i dropped into 4th and the car started back up again..... I continued to shift between gears and everything seemed fine... at first i though maybe the guide plate was off for the shifter but it does not seem like it.....so well see how that goes but i dont think that that would make the engine shut off???? any idea's???? all i can think of was maybe i hit the gas and it redlined and then killed the motor from over reving but ill just keep an eye on it....

Over-all its great im not the most advanced 6sp driver cause this car is my first stick but if I can drive it most people can.....and nitrous or F/I would make this car scream...LOL... im very pleased..
after a few days of adjustment driving will resume to normal....

Maybe after that Ill try launching......275-40-18 tires are a must for this mod I would say cause you need all the tire you can get...

Thank you Tilon and Jason.....

glad you are liking it so far!

sounds like you couldnt shift into 6th because the plate was off... were you pushing the clutch all the way down to the pedal stop? you do not want to hyper extend the pressure plate that is why the pedal stop is there... I spoke to your tech about setting it up so Im sure he set it ok...

when you start to hear the squeel you are slipping the clutch to long... as soon as you start to hear it you can lift off of the clutch completely and start giving it gas...

let me know if you have any other questions on your set up!

Enjoy it!

pulls alot harder now eh?

Pulls a lot harder is an understatement... LOL....
The more proficient I get at shifting the less squealing there is....
Im gonna check the guide plate tomorrow... I have a rogue short shifter... maybe the setting are a little diffrent from the stock shifter.... we shall see.......

Next MOD is a TS ECU flash to get those extra RPM and adjust the A/F ratio.....

Still doesnt explain why the engine died though.....im still curious....Im sure that more test driving will show if a diffrent issue is present.....

How long do you think the clutch will last????? and are there any dealers that sell Tilton products in Hawaii...Im moving back home in January 2005...

Life of the 55mph speed limit in hawaii will be great

No more crazy driving....abide by all laws

Jason...... I guess it will take a little while to learn to not squeal the clutch......Hmmmmm... does making it squeal cause a lot of damage to the clutch???? Also if I release as soon as I hear it squeal is it gonna grab real hard and jerk the car or is it gonna be just a little ruff?? just wondering.. right now it seems like it will jerk real hard but maybe after some practice it will be better.... any comment to help out???

as you drive it you will feel what the clutch will do and find the best way for you to release it without making the car jerk... but there will be some times (and its usually the time you are thinking about it) when you will stall and make the car jerkey...

I had the version that is in your car for over 20000 miles and when I took it out it still had pleanty of life left... showed signs of wear, but only slight amounts... and I beat my car up...

Sounds pretty sick. How's it compare to other manufacturers.
