Default Just had my stall raised to 2700...........

Do I "need" a tanny cooler??? I drive this car (G35 coupe) every day and I play once in awhile, so is a tranny cooler necessary, if so, which should I get???
BTW, this is a great mod for all you auto drivers out there.
putting down a patch of rubber is no problem now, and the ECU doesn't try to stop you either.

with all do respect...how hard is it to lay rubber....i mean holding the brake and giving it the gas isn't too hard....or giving some gas while cornering and creating too much exit speed to whip that azz end around. why would the ecu stop you from doing this anyways...just turn of your tcs if thats the case. i don't see the need for a cooler unless your tracking your car....is this what you mean by playing?

Do a search, I recall a thread regarding some trannys gettting very hot after a TC install. A tranny cooler is only like 35 bucks from Edge.

I talked to the guy at Edge torque converters and he said there is no need unless your car is running hot

Road Warrior :

I have an open diff 5AT G35, you can't turn off TCS, only VDC and it doesn't really turn off all the way the traction control and ABS are always on thus preventing a really good burn out. The wheels start to spin and the TCS takes control applying the brakes and you watch the slip light blink.
Now I can do a burn out with ease and no slip light blinking and no TCS applying the brakes.
My whole problem was that I was not able to get the full potential of this motor, untill now.

gotcha, i can see where that would be highly annoying. i hate having my tcs control my driving input...unless i am in wet conditions. other than that, tcs is the first thing i turn off when i get in my car to drive. if you can get a work around that would be great....i would be after it too also, your condition makes it awfully tuff to do some drifting...thats definately a motivation factor....you must have the ability to spin those tires

How did they modify the stock TC to upgrade without replacing it?

they removed it from the car, sent it to a transmission shop, and they opened it up. It took one full day for the work to be done.
