Default Weird "issue" i noticed a bit ago

I will try to explain this to the best of my ability. I have a 2004 ZR with 20k miles on it. I am the second owner and the previous owner was a Z collector. Anyhow, all was/is well with the car until i slammed it on coils and put my wide wheels on. Originally, the first thing i noticed was that the passenger side wheel actually sits out 5-10mm (ish) more than the drivers side, so when you are going for flush fitment, the sides are different, which required me to pull the passenger side more than the driver side. I also noticed the passenger side sits lower than the driver side, with coils i just raised that side more.

I have since went to Airlift V2 for my suspension and love it, but i am trying to figure out this issue with the wheels sitting out more on one side, and now the passenger side sitting lower especially when aired out it is pretty noticeable.

Has anyone had this happen?

What are your alignment specs ? Did you align it after you slammed it?

i did an alignment in my garage after installing the coilovers and then again after the air install. I have a hard time believing that an off alignment is going to push one wheel out that much + cause on side of the car to sit much lower than the other. Idk, maybe i am wrong.

if your wheels are staggered, maybe the the front wheels were mounted on one side and the rears on the other? Other than that, you will need to take it for an alignment.

Or you have some structural damage?

One way or the other it should be put on an alignment machine. Unless that is what you have in you garage...

On the wheels, I don't want to call out the obvious but have you measured the wheel offsets to make sure the L&R are the same? Maybe they shipped the wrong offsets.... 10mm is a major difference.

(Or what CJ said, above)

Side note, I recall a problem like that on a friend's Acura.... turned out she had a wheel spacer on one side and not the other....

As far as the height differential, since it's too low on one side with BOTH the c/o's and the air setup, I'd suspect something going on with the mounting hardware/suspension; maybe spring bucket - if you got the type of c/o's that retain the original spring mount vs "real" coilovers - or possibly something going on with your LCAs or xverse links.

All of that should be revealed on the alignment rack.

Good luck.

Mic

I was talking to some guys on the 350z/VQ pages on facebook and it seems like it is a more common issue than one would think

10mm is about 0.5 degree of camber, I bet the alignment is off
