Question At what RPM do you idle?

I recently installed a grounding kit but never took notice a what RPM I would idle before. I now idle at 750 RPM with the AC on, about 700 RPM with the AC off.

At what RPM do you idle?

Didn't notice idle RPM before ground kit, but after i install mine on G35 it idle around 300-400. After 8 months and 14000 miles and it is still around 300-400 and it never stalled once.

Idle at 300RPM? Wow, that's low.

Mine is around 600-650 with grounding kit. I need it raised because it keeps sputtering if it idles for too long.

700 to 800 RPM with a 6 speed, I would think the autos would differ a little.

not to dis you or anything, but are you sure that you are reading your gauge correctly? an idle of 300-400 rpms REALLY doesnt sound right.

Yup, it idle right below 2nd line.
Since 5th line is 1000, so 1st line = 200, 2nd line = 400 isn't it?
I'll take a pic later today.

This is interesting!! I have a G35 6MT coupe, with grounding kit, JWT Popcharger, and Borla exhaust, and I notice that my idle sits around 250-300 rpm and with the AC on, around 500rpm. However, I know that is to low as now I am noticing during a warm startup (Engine Warm), the car would barely make it to idle, and on occasions would die at startup (warm). The shop manual says the idle should be around 600-750 rpm, but it doesn't say that is for a AT or 6MT. I'm thinking about asking the dealer to up the rpm, but more than likely, the popcharger is probably the culprit, thus they may not do it under warranty. Any suggestions?

Im idling when warm at around 400rpm as well. Ive also got the vortech blower, which im sure is causing a parasitic drag on the motor.

maybe the g35s idle lower than the z's? i gotta go double check what mine idles at, but i think it is in the 600-800 range.

edit: i just looked at the g35 brochure with the pic of the tachometer. that first line is the 500 rpm marker. that makes a lot more sense.

the first long line after the zero is 500, then it goes in increments of 100 rpms.
